In a race of nature, humanity won.

It looked like a normal rainy day, just like Mumbai. Few rains and the water start logging. But this was different. In one of the hotels of Jammu & Kashmir, a Mumbai based family went attending a marriage function. Everything was normal when flood started entering the hotel premises, the senior person of family Mr Vijay Thakur, a Chembur resident, started taking pictures of floods with fun. In no time, they were surrounded by floods that made them move to the upper floors of the hotel. Thakur family realized that they were in big trouble…

This blog is dedicated to the brave Thakur family who survived in J & K floods based on article published in Mumbai Mirror followed by an interview taken by RJ Jituraj of Radio Mirchi Mumbai. Mr Vijay Thakur is one of my managers in my office and he shared the audio clip of that interview. But it brings tears in eyes when we listen. The way how we become miserable against the nature when it thinks to take revenge, when it is not in a good mood with the innocent people or when it wants to teach lesson to people how the way global warming is taking place around. On 8th September 2014, Mumbai Mirror published about the family was stuck in J & K and needed help. The Thakur family safely returned couple of days ago in Mumbai. Today Mr Thakur was on air with Juturaj on radio Mirchi, Mumbai, described the story of surviving from floods.

No sooner did Thakur family found themselves trapped, they started seeking for help. Very soon, mobile networks & telephones services were disconnected. The hotel staff confirmed that they were trapped and the only hope of surviving was the army which was helping all other people. But they were still waiting for the help. The hotel staff assured them whenever the help would arrive, the guests of their hotel would be allowed to go first before the staff. They were merely survived on couple of parathas which were being served as a food in hotel. When Thakur family saw an army boat, they started making loud noise in order to make them noticed about help. The army personals took them in a boat to a bus which took them to the place where choppers were taking rescued people to their camps. But the journey was going to be tougher. When they reached there, they found huge queue of people. There was no food, and no toilets. Somehow women and little children were allowed to stay in Governer’s outhouse while men from family stood in a queue for their turn. Thakur family got the chance to board on chopper after 1 and half day after waiting. By chopper, they were taken to the army base where Indian Air Force planes took people to their destinations.

Mr Thakur in Jammu & Kashmir. A heaven turned into a hell.
Thakur family was one of the luckiest family who survived before the nature. I think that this family will never forget this week long ordeal through which they suffered and how our army helped them returning back to their sweet home. Thakur family is an example that in the cruel race of nature, humanity has won. Think about the generosity of the hotel staff that helped them to board first before themselves, think about the army personals that selflessly served them, and think about the blessing of god too. There must be something that they were taken care of. Returning from J & K, they immediately saw doctor whether they were suffering from pneumonia or not. But everything was normal. This tragedy has taken many lives, many people have lost their homes, J & K is too destroyed but this disaster will certainly have left a wound on Thakur family which they would never ever forget…

He roars again...

He is roaring again. Yes! Singham is back with bang, this time with more action, more drama and less romance. And also he has returned to Mumbai as DSP of the city. Now the Rohit Shetty, who is better known for action and comedy, this time, could not bring more masala, yet he is entertaining audience with his typical story. It’s all about the Mumbai Police Force how it has been working. Rohit has tried his best to clean the image of Mumbai Police but I don’t believe the Mumbai Police is bad at all. If you are living properly in the Mumbai City following rules and regulation, nothing can happen to you. The festival season has arrived in Mumbai, starting from today; the Govindas are celebrating the festival of Dahi Handi in the city, and I am seeing the Mumbai Police’s duties have started too along with these festivals. By the end of the month, we are having one of the biggest festivals of the year Ganesh Chaturthi which will be even more tougher situation for entire force.

We should talk about Singham Returns which is roaring in the entire nation. Ajay Devgn is better always. As I went into the Rajhans Multiplex, I heard even more shouts and whistles than Kick. And few repeated dialogues from Singham-1, absolutely bring reality in the movie. Just like,

Aata Majhi Satakli…”

“Aali re aali, aata tumchi baari aali…”

And of course Kareena’s final words to Singham,

“Singham. Ya bhadvyana na sodu naka…”

This is one of a powerful presentation of the police force by Rohit Shetty which has actually got positive response from people. The best factor has been the Mumbai City. As we saw his last film Chennai Express, we saw some of the most beautiful locations of South India, here Rohit has beautifully captured some of Mumbai’s iconic places along with other locations of Maharashtra. The reason why I like Rohit Shetty movies because they never have vulgarities, no bikinis, no kissing scenes, no double meaning dialogues and no sex. It makes the complete family movie. You can say there is so much violence in this sequel but Rohit has covered many subjects in his story like corruption, politics and women power. So it is quite justifiable.

In my opinion, just go and see once this movie in theaters because it is a must see movie.

Do I really care?

Something’s wrong. I need to leave 6:11 evening local as our rake is adjacent to the handicapped rake having only barriers of iron poles which also allows cancer patients and pregnant women who are in advance delivery stage. I see blind people living happy life, amongst them, a girl boards at Marine Lines and gets down at Andheri easily without fear, just feeling the senses around. Yesterday I saw a mother came from Dadar with her teenage daughter who was suffering from cancer. I was feeling that they were returning from KEM hospital. Obviously they belonged to a middle class because nobody would want his/her sick daughter travel in jam packed local. She had worn mask and I could see only her eyes. She was weak and so she was quite thin. Seeking place to sit here and there, she chose to sit on a floor of the rake where other people disturbed her. Seeing this, a lady who was capable to stand, stood up and offered her seat. I went emotional thrice looking at mother and daughter. What did that little girl do that God had to be so cruel on her? What a helpless mother must be thinking of her daughter? People suffer from worse part of life without expressing anything to anyone, drinking the bitter pain all around. Life is so beautiful. If you’re well, fine, fit and healthiest, what more you need? We complain everyday for so many things but how they can complain?

A blind never complains why he can’t see…

A deaf never complains why he can’t hear…

A dumb never complains why he can’t speak…

A person who knows that he has a decease that will take his life soon, will never complain about his death....

This is so painful when I look around there….everyday.

The beautiful snow queen

“Do you wanna build a snowman?”

We see two little cute sisters when Frozen starts. Little Elsa pleases little Anna, her sister with her magical snow. Little Anna looks very mischievous playing in the snow and she cannot even control her happiness. And here the story starts…

Elsa was born with magical powers which can freeze anything she wants. This was not only a beautiful thing for Elsa but also a threat for the others. Elsa’s powers were good until she remained happy. Once she was tensed, scared, her power became her enemy and people are scared. Once Elsa hits Anna on her head while playing in large hall. As soon as she’s tensed, the entire atmosphere changes into the big room and the snowman they had built, is also broken. While treating Anna, Grand Pabbie asks Elsa to remain calm and not to fear. As fear would be the biggest enemy of Elsa. Elsa is locked by parents who later die in a sea storm.

The Snow Queen
Elsa turns young and very beautiful. She becomes the queen of her Kingdom of Arendelle. But she can still not control the fear she has about her powers. By mistake, she uses her power and watches the kids of Arendelle feared. She runs away from kingdom for the safety of her people, her sister. We see Elsa a beautiful strong woman who builds castle of Ice and living fearlessly. “The cold never bothered me anyway”… Elsa sings but she is not aware of the situation in which Arendelle is trapped under. Fjord makes the kingdom cold and people weak. Elsa also builds snowman Olaf which gets alive. Anna tries to bring Elsa back to Arendelle but even she hurts Anna in her heart this time. Anna is about to die as Grand Pabbie cannot save her. Only the thing that could save Anna is an act of true love. Meanwhile, Elsa is captured in her own Kingdom in jail by Hans who leaves cold and weak Anna to die and plans to kill Elsa. He knows that once Elsa is killed, Arendelle will again be the same. Elsa runs away from the situation that creates huge storm around Arendelle. She is still not able to control her powers. Hans told her that because of her powers, Anna is dead and Elsa then breaks down and the storm is stopped. Anna is about to be frozen but in time, she saves Elsa from Hans.

The most painful moment for Elsa comes when she watches her sister completely frozen after saving her life. Elsa starts crying and everyone around them, curiously watches Elsa hugging frozen Anna. But true love of Elsa fills life in Anna and she gets life. They hug each other again and Anna gasps Elsa…

“I love you.”

All Elsa needed in life was a love which she never able to identify. Anna loved her truly for her entire life ever since she was a kid. Anna was an innocent little kid when Elsa was locked up in a room and had no idea about her powers. Anna kept requesting Elsa for playing all through the years while growing up alone in big castle. But Elsa couldn’t recognize the love which Anna did. Elsa becomes even stronger with love of Anna and become a beloved Queen of Arendelle.

Better than the best. Let the others take rest...for a while.

I am neither Taran Aadarsh nor Anupama Chopra but at least I can express myself for the golden man of Bollywood, Salman Khan. I recently have watched his movie Kick and as I updated my status, I again booked tickets immediately for next day to take my mother. For Salman Khan movies, review is never required. It is always a hit one. But this time Salman Khan has come with some difference, with more actions and even more emotions. Really if you won’t cry once in a movie, you’re not human or you can never be a good human being. ‘Being Human”, what Salman Khan spreads message with his brand, is seen in the movie Kick. Salman Khan has actually put his real life in character of this reel life. And this is the reason why this is going to be a blockbuster of 2014. We must wait for macho man Ajay Devgn’s Singham Returns, Haidar to see the power pact performance of Shahid Kapoor & Bang Bang which is believed to be one of the best movies of Hrithik Roshan till date. Time decides the fate.

Never lose this smile :)
But as everyone is saying, this time Salman Khan has brought some variety with comedy and action. And it’s very suspense. The gorgeous Sri Lankan beauty Jacqueline has done quite well performance before Salman Khan. Navazuddin Siddaque and my all time favorite Randeep Hooda (ever since I saw him in his first movie ‘D’) both are surprise package! Both must be appreciate. Our beloved Dada aka Mithunda is there as a father of Salman Khan. It’s a complete family entertainer and a must watch movie. I hardly had reviews about movies but this time I have to give Kick 5 stars.

It’s people’s love for Salman making him large day after day. He’s simple, honest, humble, and helpful, he bring smile, he brings tears, tears of joy, and he overcomes the sadness. Heartily praying in the sacred month of Ramdan, may Allah bring him lots of peace & success and hope this year he’ll find his soul mate.

God opens many doors when one is closed...

Life without friends is hell. When I went to platform no 2 of Bhayandar station today, I hesitated going there because I no longer belong to the area now. I went to catch the 8:04 Churchgate bound fast local as it had been my favorite local more than a year. I thought the people out there would not support me. But nothing was happened like that. I do not even know the names of most of the people there but we have been very good friends all through the year. When they all see me, they went too happy seeing me back and started asking me whether I was coming everyday in that local.

All of them were meeting me and expressing their feeling. As I have always made fun of things and made everyone smile there, they were all happy seeing me back. Even the person who stands on a door till Malad was too happy seeing me back. He used to call me “Aaj ki taaja khabar” because of my companion Mumbai Mirror. That Gujarati uncle who boards local when it is running and catches a window seat, offered me his seat today and forced me to sit on a window seat after cleaning the rain water fallen in yards of Bhayander by his bare hands. The most beautiful gift of my life is Kamal. He’s a greatest of the great guy. Simple, honest and humble who shares all things with us, I still remember once I hugged him on a fly over when he was talking with his friends (Because Elsa calls me Olaf and I like warm hugs). While he saw me today morning, he said, “Arre Chintan. If I had known that you were coming, I’d have brought a coconut today for rituals and would have distributed sweets.”

They all have now requested me to come in their local and taken my private number. If I won’t go there from Monday, they’ll start calling me. Mumbai has been so helpful every time whenever I needed. I was feeling lonely and finding tough to reach Churchgate early morning but these guys have made this very simple. I can smile now. They have made me so happy today, I cannot forget this day. I am loved and that’s all I want. Some things bring tears in the eyes…. Tears of joy…. Only Mumbai can give.
